Due to current in conductor a; direction is shown in Fig. 7.4 by the right-hand rule

$H_{a} = \frac{4}{2π × 20 × 10^{-2} } = \frac{10}{π}$ A/m

Similarly

$H_{b} = \frac{10}{π}$ A/m

Adding the two vectors

$\overline{H} = \sqrt{2} H_{a}$ ∠ 90° + 45°

$\overline{H} = \frac{10 \sqrt{2}}{π}$ ∠ 135° A/m
