Monsoon Shoes Sales Study
Monsoon Shoes (Pty) Ltd, a retail shoe company with eight branches nationwide, has recorded the quarterly sales volumes (in R10 000s) since they began trading in January 2008. This sales data is shown in Table 15.1.

Management Question
Produce a line graph of the quarterly sales data for Monsoon Shoes. Visually establish whether any patterns occur over time.

The line graph is shown in Figure 15.1.
Management Interpretation
The line graph clearly reveals a fairly regular pattern over time, with sales peaking in the third quarter (July to September) and bottoming out in the first quarter (January to March) of each year. There is also a moderate but steady upward rise in the series.
