From the circuit, I = I_{Z} + I_{L}
But from R, I =\frac{V_{in} – V_{o}}{R}=\frac{40 – 10}{1 × 10^{3}} = 30 mA

When I_{L} is minimum, I_{Z} is maximum and vice versa.

I = I_{Zmax} + I_{Lmin}
30 mA = 24 mA + I_{Lmin}

Therefore, I_{Lmin} = 6 mA
But I_{Lmin} =\frac{V_{o}}{R_{Lmax}}

R_{Lmax} =\frac{V_{o}}{I_{Lmin}}=\frac{10}{6 × 10^{– 3}} = 1.667 kΩ

and I = I_{Zmin} + I_{Lmax}
30 mA = 5 mA + I_{Lmax}
I_{Lmax} = 25 mA
But I_{Lmax} =\frac{V_{o}}{R_{L min}}

R_{Lmin} =\frac{V_{o}}{I_{Lmax}}=\frac{10}{25 × 10^{– 3}}= 400 Ω

Hence, the range of I_{L} is 6 mA to 25 mA and that of R_{L} is 400 W to 1.667 kW.
