Analysis
Count the number of C—O bonds in the starting material and product. Oxidation increases the
number of C—O bonds and reduction decreases the number of C—O bonds. NAD^{+} is the coenzyme needed for an oxidation, and NADH is the coenzyme needed for a reduction.
