A tRNA molecule possesses the anticodon 5^{\prime} CGU 3^{\prime}. Which amino acid will this tRNA molecule carry?
Codons, rather than anticodons, are involved in the genetic code relationships. The codon with which this anticodon 5^{\prime} CGU 3^{\prime} base pairs is 5^{\prime} ACG 3^{\prime}. Remember, as shown in Example 22.6, that the codon–anticodon pairing involves the anticodon 3^{\prime} UGC 5^{\prime} (the anticodon written in the 3^{\prime}-to-5^{\prime} direction).
The amino acid that the codon ACG codes for (see Table 22.2) is Thr (Threonine).
