The interaction of the non-return valve with a 4/3 way valve guarantees that the de-lockable non-return valve is loaded. As a result the door can be held open for a long time without dropping down when the 4/3 valve is switched off in the mid-position. When the piston rod retracts, that is, when the door opens, the de-lockable non-return valve is unseated via a control line. The non-return valve opens when the directional control valve reverses the cylinder. The required circuit diagram is shown in Fig. 7.19.
