Minor diameter d = 45 – 2 × 4.25 = 36.5 mm

A = total area of splines

=n \times\left(\frac{D-d}{2}\right) \times l

=6 \times\left(\frac{45-36.5}{2}\right) \times 30=765 \mathrm{~mm}^2

R_m= mean effective radius

=\frac{D+d}{2}

=\frac{45+36.5}{2}=40.75 \mathrm{~mm}
